Since her beginnings on Disney’s Shake It Up, Zendaya has been a red carpet regular who is never afraid to switch it up when it comes to her hair. During her three-year stint co-producing and starring on the Disney Channel hit K.C. Undercover, she experimented with length and textures, from a sultry bowl cut at the 2015 Grammys to show-stopping, waist-length locks at the Oscars the same year (above). Just one month later this look gave way to a slightly longer bowl-cut style with a heavy-set fringe at the Kids Choice Awards, and Zendaya’s hair experimentation showed no sign of slowing as her career progressed to the silver screen.
The American actor and singer has sampled many up-dos to complement strapless gowns—and her high cheekbones and well-defined brows—from slicked-back top knots to more tousled bun styles. The star even pulled off a mullet in 2016.

Zendaya likes to experiment with colour too—her natural brunette shade seems to reign supreme, but she can pull off any colour from peroxide at the 2017 Fashion Awards to jet-black locks in LA in 2017. As she promoted the film Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor favoured more natural styles, allowing her hair to run free with wispy curls. A particular highlight? Her beautiful, huge auburn curls at the 2017 Met Gala (above), a high-volume nod to the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons theme.
More recently, the star has favoured sleeker styles, be it a straight bob and fringe at The Greatest Showman premiere or with hair slicked back from the face and held in with headbands or behind the ears at various awards shows in 2018. Nevertheless, with a second Spiderman film and her leading role in HBO series Euphoria, we can no doubt expect many more show-stopping hair moments from Zendaya.
